Free Cantelope

U might wonder what on earth this old lady gonna blog abt free Cantelope ?

Well, there are many shops in America that have very good return policies, some don't even need any receipts, and the best return policy so far that I love the most is Publix store. When the cashier made a mistake on charging you on the item(s) that you purchase, you got a free item.

Well, today, when I went to the store, I saw quite a lot of sales items, one of them is Cantelope and Strawberries. Cantelope 2 for $4 and strawberries 2 for $5. I picked up one each. Well, this is an old habit of mine, reading the receipts before I left the store , just to make sure that I am not being over charge or under charge. And yes, today, the cashier overcharged me for the Cantelope, she charge me $3.49 for my Cantelope. As a stingy old witch, I of course went to the return counter. The young girl told me this Cantelope is bigger and it is $3.49. I said , 'No, Madam, it is 2 for $4, would you like to walk with me to the counter where the Cantelope is ? " She said, 'Sure, Madam.' So we walked there, and of course the old witch is right. The young girl said ' U know Madam, they put the Cantelope at the wrong place, this is bigger Cantelope, it should be in the counter where it said $3.49." I said, 'Ya, that is not my problem.' (your old witch here has become very Americanized :):):)). She said, 'Yes, Madam, u are going to have your Cantelope free'. And she did, she handed me $3.50. And here I am very happy cos I don't think I will ever get such deal in Kuching, aiyo !!!

I want to share with you (on picture only), my free Cantelope, ha ha ha ha ha ha. Notice the small print on the carrying bag said 'Where shopping is a pleasure.' I really agree with its slogan cos it is really a pleasure to shop in Publix if provided you have the $, they even carry your shopping to your car (and u are not supposed to give them any tips) and the best part is your stingy old witch asked them to double bag the purchase, so I can use it for my trash.

Our mentality and theirs are really different, we save every tiny bits :). They gave away the plastic bag in the recycle bins but I use every bag from stores, so I don't have to buy trash bag. Even though the trash bag is very reasonable here like 100 for $2+ but it is still money, right ? Say yes lah, u Malaysian :):):):):)

Unsual scenes

For those of you who are my blog kaki would probably knew from the number of pictures I posted that I love to travel.
I like to take pictures of strange or unusual scenery, even if that mean making a U turn back or going back to the previous exit of an highway. [I have a very kind hearted husband and patience too, who can take the crabs from me :)].

When I see this guitar, I thought to myself, only in America :):)















And when I saw these 4 ladies walking down the street at Biloxi city @ Mississippi, I thought wow, how cool can it be to find 4 Asians ladies walking down the street in the deep south. Where were they from ? How long have they been in the US ? Are they lonely here, imagine Biloxi, Mississippi, I bet most of you have not even heard of the name ?
Well, if you know much about Katrina hurricane, Biloxi was one of the cities that was very badly affected.
















The bridge was out when we were there. It was terrible, terrible, terrible.

Isn't it wonderful to blog, your own space, you can write whatever you want and you can make friends from all over the world. I used to be very active in certain forums, not anymore. With forum, if u write something from the deepest of yr heart, there are going to be some people who don't like it and hatam you left right center. And if you want to bring up certain issues you feel strongly about it, not everyone will see eyes to eyes with you. I bet there are a lot of people who don't like me but still come and spy on my blog. But, I still welcome you to my kopitiam :)-.

Can you love someone unconditionally ?

The unconditional love of mother is incredible, it is like instinct. The minute you hold that little one, the love just 'zzoooo' from the bottom of my heart. This little one is my unconditional love :)-

Good morning, cuppocino and crosoint

I am not French, but I love crossont. I am not Italian but I love cappuccino.















During my single days, it is Hilton cappucino, now it is home-make cappucino lah :) with these ingredients :)-.
















And I made a quiche for my ever picking son :)















And guess what else I made too ? (cinamon roll and a fruit pie - apple/apricot). Yes, life of a mom now, no more swinging life at Hilton high tea :):)

What is this ?

Yes, Wuching is right, it is a portable jamban. (Malaysian Americans are not allow to guess, he he he.Only those who reside of US are allowed to guess :)-, he he he.)
















My hubby and I are travel bugs:). We decided to go to Asheville on a spur of the moment. We took off on Tuesday and came back on Thursday night cos I need to get back to work (week end shit). We drove miles and miles on Blue Ridge Parkway, we climbed all the way to nearly 5000ft. Along the way, we stopped and 'wee wee' :). The portable jamban was sparkling clean. I was amazed !

I love the 4th picture, this kind of scenery remind me that we human being are so small ! It is an awesome feeling.
