Another great way to make money

Monday, June 04, 2007

I thought this is one of the coolest idea. TheNewsRoom not only delivers up-to-date news from Reuters, CBS, Associated Press but many others. It not only served to entertain you guys, my dearest blog readers and my virtual friends but it also helps me to make money online.

You can check on the site and understand how you will be rewarded by Mashing.

In short this is how you will get paid. "All content is accompanied by advertising. Each time the news mashed from TheNewsRoom is viewed on your site, you earn a guaranteed CPM (cost per thousand impression)"

I wanted to bring to you the weather here. As much as I love Florida, I do not really enjoy the Hurricane season. It started as soon as summer starts. Summers start here sooner than many parts of USA because we are considered sub-topical. It starts at beginning of May (officially it is May 23rd). As soon as June arrived, we are expecting our hurricane season. It was already raining on Sunday (6/2/07). I hope this year we don't have hurricane like Katrina.

So click on the video so that I can earn some $ , ok :)

Do you keep your friends for life or you treat them like your underwear ?

I don't have a lot of friends because I am choosy and can be cocky at times. But, there are a few of them I keep them for life.

I knew these 3 girls since we were 7. We were classmate in our primary school, Chung Hua Primary School No.3. We even went high school together.

Of the girl has became widow 6years ago , a year after I left M. He was one of my high school classmates. The other one also married one of my high school classmates, they live happily after in Kuching; and finally the other one, she is not only my classmate but also my neighbor for many years. There were very few girls in my form 4 Science class. There were 13 girls out of 48 students. There were 7 of us who got along very well, they called us the seven golden flowers (Chinese school lah, what do u expect :):):). The other 3 whom you did not see in the pictures, one of them resides in London; 2 of them whom I have grown apart (not only distance but friendship, in short we gadoh lah (:, not gam anymore). So last year, when I got home, I asked them to minum kopi. I think it must be hard for them not to invite the other 2 whom I no longer talk to. I feel bad that I put them into such predicament, but such is life !

We met at a trendy cafe @ Padungan road, chatted from 2pm to 7pm then we walked cross the street to have dinner @ Taiwan noddles house.

Most of my friends are for keep !

What about you ? You keep your friends or you change them like your underwear ? no change busuk lah :):).

Life of a dedicated father

Sunday, June 03, 2007

These are some snips of how dedicated my husband is to our little boy.

I had made many stupid decisions in my life but marrying him is the best decision I have ever made in my life.

Though, I had a lot of negatives remarks when people heard of my internet relationship, but I had some very strong support. The 2 strong support were Neelam and my ex boss, Mr Kim. I had to say my ex boss Mr Kim was one of the rare kind of bosses in this world. He told me he was very sad that I had to leave his company ( I used to be one of his right hand women) but he wanted me to have a family. I used to run Informatics school in Brunei. I had my own apartment or rather the whole school compound. It was lonely being single. What do you do when you come home and there's the empty 4 walls ?

I strongly believe that man and woman are mean to get married except for some exception cases. It is good to have a family. My boy often come around me and kiss me at my cheek, my lip, my hair and said 'Mama, I love you.' I thought that is so priceless, it is worth more than being voted as the most successful manager in the Informatics world.

For those of you who are single, I pray that someday you will find your soul mate !

Human psychology and lunch

I love to cook with local materials and ingredients. I am one who believe strongly in : "In Romes do as the Romans". Having lived outside of my birthplace for many years, I have acquired the philosophy and skill to cook like the locals do.

When I lived in Australia for many years, I hardly go to the Asian stores. I cooked and ate a lot of local products. The area I lived had a lot of immigrants such as Italians, Greeks, and Labonese. There are a lot of stores that sold mediterranean products. As times gone by, I started to acquired the love for mediterranean dishes. I love olive, fetta cheese, and all kind of food that I can find in Sydney market. I remembered I used to cook a lot of lamb chop because lamb was so cheap then in Sydney. I used to grill or bake lamb with mint. It was one of the easiest and cheapest food you could have. I remembered a short stint in K.L, a male friend took me to a very expensive restaurant @ Ampang road in K.L. He probably wanted to impress me , he ordered one of the most expensive dishes, lamb with mint sauce. When I looked at the price of the dish, I did not have the heart to tell me ,' A so-chai, don't be stupid lah, don't spend that kind of $, lets eat something local lah.' However, I have learned not to rub man ego long time ago, so I let him ordered the lamb. I of course lied the biggest lie, told him it's the best lamb I had ever ate in my life. Yes, girls can lie through their teeth.

I am one who don't believe in cooking food that required ingredients from oversea. To me now oversea is Malaysia, so I won't cook as much curry, laksa, sambah Belachan, TomYan etc...than say when I was in Malaysian or Brunei. I found it more practical to cook food that I can find ingredients locally. Of course, I do cook Malaysian food now and then, more so when I have guests over for dinner or for our Indonesian / Malaysian fellowship meals.

I found it ironic that a lot of Asians go to a great length to show off that they are Westernized. They go to a 'high class' Western Restaurant, just to have steak and roti ; or even more ironic to Victorian station to have some Spaghetti and roti. Why eat steaks with knife when you have so many tasty nice delicious Asian food ? And the other ironic thing which I don't understand is when when they live oversea, they will go high and low looking for Yeo Hap Seng soya sauce ? You tell me Why ? I don't understand.

I have an opposite mind set, when I live in US, I eat steak, potatoes and cheese. When I lived in Malaysia, I ate Kuching Laksa, Belachan Bee Hoon and drink Puak :)-. I don't need to show off that I am Westernized lah because I am not. I still pick my nose at public, ha ha ha ha.

Today I cook quiche again. This is one of the easiest dish you could ever cook.

Pie crest , left over pork, frozen spinach, onion, eggs/milk, and today I added pepperroni !

Memories I

I met my husband on the internet. I wanted to visit him to find out what he is like. Is he what he said from our corresponds ?

There was a girl who worked with me for a few years. We got along so well that I had never treat her like my staff. I treated her like a sister. She was so kind to me that she offered to go to US with me. Visiting US is not like something a 'gaji' earning person can say I want to go then I go the next day kind of thingy. You have to think 1st about visa, then $, then enough leave to go ! For a single woman to get a visa is not very easy. On top of that at that time the exchange rate was 3.8. Just airfare would cost around RM$5k (including the small trips we had to make on our journey), plus other expenses like food, gifts for family members and friends back home (how can you go home with bare hand, that is not our Malaysian culture, u know lah).

Though I was a jet setter during my early 20's and early 30's but I had stopped traveling since I work in Brunei. The trans-pacific flight was a night mare for me. Half-way through the flight (we weren't even 1/2way through the pacific), I told Neelam " I am going home, there is no way I am going to live in US, so far away from the rest of the world.' She said don't worry, you will love US, I promise you. Neelam studied in Sunway college and got her under graduate degree in Michigan University.

I am glad Neelam words turn out to be true. I have never look back. I am happy with my American life, my family and of course my American dream.

The very first place my then internet boyfriend took us was his elementry school. We had funs :)-

We had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant near the lake with my future FIL and Jean. Jean is my late MIL and FIL best friends. They were friends way back when they were all doing their post grad. studies @ Duke University. Jean was 80 years old when I met her. She had a master degree in Library Science, extremely well read lady. New Yorker, Asian Weeks can be easily found lying on her house. I felt so 'malu' when she asked me about my opinion concerning an article from Economics about Anwar. I thought 'apa ini', Anwar who ? I don't even know much about Malaysian politics. In fact, I am not interested. She left me with good memories. She is gone now; she left us her house, her piano , many antics furnitures and most precious of them all is her portrait when she was in her 30's . It was done by her ex husband who was a well known artist then.

House, $, materials things will never replace the people who mean so dear to you.

This entry is written in memory of 2 good friends, Neelam Kaur and Jean Steel.

Oversea Students

I was an oversea student when I was young. Now though I am in oversea but I am a resident here. The feeling is different. Having so much here ( the most fortunate part is having a family), inevitably you want to give back. I knew how it is to live oversea without family and alone. So, I asked my husband if we could be involved with the oversea students ministry. As nice as he is, the answer is of course, YES. These are one of the functions we were involved years back. A lake party. As usual we Asians love to eat :), naturally there were lots of turn out that day at the lake picnic :). Now we are no longer involve in that ministry but our ministry is primary for the Indonesian and Malaysia ministries at our areas.

The host and us, see how little my son was then :). Times flies when you are having good times.

Someday, we hope to own a house at the lake fronts and with lots of acerage.
